You will return to Isfahan ”by Mostafa Ensafi.

Shamim Shamse, a well-known professor of Persian literature at the University of Tehran, is approaching the age of forty when the past emerges with arrogance in his life.
A Polish student, Eliza, introduces herself to her study without warning, claiming to be Adri's daughter, the girl that Shamim had loved as a young man and who had broken his heart with an inexplicable but definitive departure. Now, twenty-three years later, Eliza arrived from Warsaw full of news and determined to shed light on the experiences of her mother and grandmother, Barbara, who during the Second World War had found refuge in the city of Isfahan after having landed in Iran together with thousands more Polish refugees from the Soviet gulags. Although Shamim's wife and daughter insist on leaving the country, increasingly at the mercy of the 2009's tumultuous electoral climate, he decides to stay and encouraged by his inseparable childhood friend, Taher, he agrees to help Eliza in his research and, perhaps, to finally make sense of the abyss of questions that Adri had left behind.

You will return to Isfahan it is a journey that traces seventy years of history making us rediscover a common page between Iran and Europe, in memory of when the migratory routes were reversed compared to the present. But it is above all a moving story about affection as a feeling that goes beyond the bonds of blood and the tremendous capacity of human passions to resist the passage of time.
