It is my sixth trip to Iran

A country that, since the first time, has hit me strongly; first of all because I am passionate about history, proud of our ancient history, I was visiting a country that boasts an equally important and exciting history; then, because I did not expect to find a country that offers sensational landscapes, great food, hospitable people, culture and much more.
I had the opportunity to accompany my husband, photographer, in his travels to discover people, lands and traditions so different, but also for certain aspects, so similar to our land.
In fact, in our journeys from the north to the south of Iran, in addition to visiting the most famous cities from a tourist point of view, we also crossed less known but equally important territories that, among other things, gave us the opportunity to meet people of nomadic ethnicity with a strong tradition linked to pastoralism. We have therefore noted the similarity between the life of the shepherds who migrate along the paths from the north to the south of Iran and that of our shepherds who moved along our ancient transhumance routes (the so-called "tratturi").
Inspired by the wonderful work done by Mauro, who has made a rich report on the subject with beautiful images that tell the story of the streets of wool 360 ° along the roads of transhumance of our regions that along the Iranian, was born 'idea to set up an exhibition that represents this trait d'union between the two countries.
Thanks also to the interest of the Institute of Iranian Culture in Rome and, above all, thanks to the sensitivity of Dr. Akbar Gholi and Dr. Iazdami Mohsen, it was possible to realize our project and therefore, to set up an exhibition at the Aurum of Pescara, exhibiting in addition to images, objects from Italian museums and other commonly used Shipped from Iran.
After the success of the show, our relationship with Iran and with the friendships that were born during this journey continued. So, in the month of March, we had the honor of being invited to an important cultural event held annually in Teheran, in order to exhibit Mauro's photos at "La Casa degli Artisti".
In previous trips to Iran, we visited famous cities like Shiraz, Esfahan, Kashan, Yazd, Persepolis, etc., but we have always stayed in Teheran; instead, this time, we had the opportunity to stop in this great metropolis. The thing that struck us immediately is the chaos caused by heavy traffic along the streets of the city with the continuous sound of the horns, but, on the other hand, we had the opportunity to discover wonderful buildings, unknown neighborhoods, the bazaar with their perfumes and colors and, last but not least, attend prestigious events.
First of all, we were greeted by the efficient and very kind Neda who accompanied us to "La Casa degli Artisti", where the Festival took place. It was a great honor and satisfaction to see how the work done by Mauro with great passion was appreciated and understood. They were fantastic days, with a thousand things to do between interviews, shooting, meetings ... but also with the opportunity to visit places like the Museum of Modern Art that gave us the opportunity to know the work of a great versatile artist at 360 degrees like Ali Akbar Sadeghi.
We were able to meet new people and see people we met on previous trips, such as the delightful Sarareh with his family.
Last but not least, how can we forget the marvelous concert to which we were invited among the guests of honor during the "Seventh Festival of Classic to Contemporary Music" and that gave us the honor to know and appreciate Maestro Alireza Mashayekhi.
These five days have passed, reluctantly, too quickly, but we remain impressed faces, places, colors, smells, and in the heart new friendships that we are committed to cultivating, giving us the urge to live new experiences and carry on and develop even more our project.
