Mohammad Baqer Majlesi
Mohammad Baqer Ben Mohammad Taqi Ben Almaqsud Ali Al-Majlesi, born in 1627 in Esfahan, known as Allameh Majlesi, Majlesi Al-Thani (The second), mullah Majlesi, author of Behār Al-anwār, wise Majlesi, Majlesi Esfahāni, Majlesi (absolutely) and mohaddes-and Majlesi (the one who recites the hadith) is was among the most famous Iranian ulemas, jurists and mohaddes in the Islamic world.
Allameh Majlesi was among those who were endowed with a particular perfection. He excelled in various Islamic sciences such as exegesis, the hadith, jurisprudence, principles, history and in the science called rejāl (attestation of the authenticity of the Hadith).
These sciences, alongside those of the intellect such as philosophy, logic, mathematics, literature, philology, geography, medicine, astronomy and the most foreign sciences, have made him a prominent personality without equal.
Allāmeh from his childhood was educated by his father who was himself a scholar and studied the usual sciences of the era in the theological school of Esfahān where he later taught. He also traveled to Najaf, to Mecca and Mashhad.
Allāmeh Majlesi was a diligent scholar; he succeeded in enriching a large biblitoteca, inheritance of his ancestors, and to obtain rare books he also went to other countries.
He wrote about 169 books in Arabic and Persian (if the rest of his publications were printed in today's fashion, the whole set could amount to more than 300 volumes).
Among the works in Persian by Majlesi the following 5 volumes are among the most important works: "Haqq al-yaqin" (on the beliefs), "Ayn al-hayāt" (on ethics) "Helyat al-mottaqin" (on the customs and on the prescriptions), "Hayāt al-qolub" (on the history of the Prophets) and "Jalā al-oyun" (on the history of the Imams).

-Behār al-anwār, a large collection of anecdotes and historical stories in 110 volumes and at the same time a commentary on many verses of the Holy Quran
-Mer'āt al-oqul, explanation of the "Kafi" of Kolayni in 26 volumes
-Malād al-akhyār fi sharh-e al-tahzib on the work Tahzib al-ahkām of the Sheikh Tusi in 16 volumes
-Al Farā'edh al-Tarifah, explanation of the work "Sahife Sajjādieh"
-Sharh-e arba'in hadith (explanation of 40 hadith)

-Tohfat al-Zā'er, on the pilgrimage (Persian)
-Sarāt al-najāt (The road to salvation)
-Mashkāt al-anwār, summary of the book "Hayat Al-qalub" (Persian)
-Tuqyā't Imam-e Asr, Words of the twelfth Imam with their translations
-Many books as a translation of particular hadiths like that of "Touhid Mofazel"
-Books on the translation of prayers and pilgrimages such as "Jāme 'Kabireh and" Samāt "prayer
-Numerous treatises on the following topics such as: on the work "Alāuzān", on beliefs, on unbelief, on reparations, on the epochs, on the occult, on heaven and hell, on the authorities of the days, on the return, on the rituals of prayer etc. of Allāmeh there are also books on various topics including exegesis, science called rejal, translations etc. ..
Alongside the publications cited, Allāmeh Majlesi also composed more than one million four hundred thousand verses. The 18 March 1700 went out in Esfahān and his body was buried near the Jām'e mosque in Esfahān and next to the tomb of his wise father Mohammad Taqi Majlesi.
In the Iranian calendar the 21 August has been called day dedicated to the memory of Allāmeh Majlesi and every year a commemoration takes place in his honor.
