Dotapleh or Dotableh; Persian Musical Instrument
The Dotapleh or Dotable is an instrument of the group of membranophones with one face (one closed side) double. Together with the tās, it belongs to the set of instruments of the naghāreh family and is actually considered the naghāreh Kurd.
It consists of two bodies similar to a bronze or copper bowl. The openings of the boxes are covered with leather and is played with two leather picks called davāl. In the past it was part of Kurdistan's musical instruments for war use, and in addition to inciting warriors in battle, it was also used to announce the news.
This instrument was attached to the horse's saddle and the rider played it while riding.
