Mohammad Hosseyn Mahdaviyan, Iranian director and screenwriterMohammad Hosseyn Mahdaviyan, director and screenwriter, was born in 1981 a Babol in Northern Iran and graduated in Cinema from Sureh University (Daneshgah-e Sureh) of Tehran and then in Production at the State Radio Television University; (Daneshgah-e Seda goes Sima) of the same city. His debut film in Iranian cinema is Standing in the dust (Istadeh dar ghobar, 2016), a feature film based on the figure of Ahmad Motevaseliyan, an Iranian commander who died in Lebanon in 1982, known for his role in the early stages of the war imposed by Iraq against Iran. Among the other films directed by him, he counts The midday affair (Majara-ye Nimruz, 2017), centered on the events of 1981, in particular on the internal tensions that arose following the bombing of June 28, 1981 (Haft-e Tir) against the headquarters of the Islamic Republican Party.
