Mohammad Hosseyn Mahdaviyan, Iranian director and screenwriterMohammad Hosseyn Mahdaviyan, director and screenwriter, was born in 1981 a Babol in northern Iran and graduated in Cinema from the Sureh University (Daneshgah-e Sureh) of Tehran and then in Production at the State Radio Television University; (Daneshgah-e Seda goes Sima) of the same city. His debut film in Iranian cinema is Standing in the dust (Istadeh dar ghobar, 2016), a feature film based on the figure of Ahmad Motevaseliyan, Iranian commander who died in Lebanon in 1982, known for his role in the early stages of the Iraq-imposed war on Iran. Among the other films directed by him, there is The midday affair (Majara-ye Nimruz, 2017), focusing on the events of the 1981, in particular on the internal tensions that arose following the 28 June 1981 bombing (Haft-e Tir) against the headquarters of the Islamic Republican Party.
