Municipal Statute: Respect for theArticle 2, which inspires the Municipality's action in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the protection of human life.
Democratic Values: The constant commitment against all forms of totalitarianism and in favor of justice and democracy.
The reasons for the appeal
The initiative comes in the wake of serious war events that began on February 28, which saw joint attacks by US and Israeli forces against targets in Iran and southern Lebanon.The Council highlights with concern:
La violation of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the use of force not authorized by the Security Council.
The serious ones humanitarian consequences, involving innocent civilians, including children, in sensitive places such as markets and schools.
The economic impact global and local: instability in the Persian Gulf is causing unsustainable price increases in the energy sector, which directly impact Italian families and reduce the spending capacity of public bodies.
The requests of the City Council

Condemn the military intervention in Iran operated by the United States of America and Israel.
Call for an immediate ceasefire and the full return to International Law.
Urge the Italian Government and the President of the Republic so that they take a clear position, preventing the use of military bases on Italian soil for these war operations.
The official document will be sent to the Presidency of the Republic, the Presidency of the Council and the diplomatic representations of the United States and Israel in Italy, so that the voice of our community reaches the highest competent authorities..
