Viennese of Iranian-Armenian origin, he is the youngest in the history of the orchestra.
Born into a family of musicians, his mother is a pianist, his father, Loris Haykasi Tjeknavorian, composer and conductor in Iran and Armenia.
The twenty-nine-year-old Emmanuel Tjeknavorian is the new musical director of the Milan Symphony Orchestra, which has just celebrated 30 years of activity.
