Easter concert dedicated to Rossini with the participation of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra in Sant'Apollinare in Classe

Emilia Romagna Concerti celebrates the 28th anniversary of Gioachino Rossini's death by offering the public the “Petite Messe Solennelle”, considered one of the best masterpieces of 21th century music. It will be performed for the Easter Concert, Wednesday XNUMX March at XNUMX pm in the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in classe, directed by M ° Olmi.
The 2018 edition of the Easter Concert which returns to the Basilica of Classe, after eleven years of absence, will see on the podium again the maestro Paolo Olmi, with the Chorus of the Teatro della Fortuna "M. Agostini "(Maestro of the Mirca Rosciani choir) and the Young Musicians European Orchestra. The vocal cast will consist of soprano Lucrezia Drei, mezzo-soprano Aude Extremo, tenor Marco Ciaponi and bass George Andguladze.
This already impressive staff, unusual for Rossini's traditional compositions, will be enriched by the presence of young Iranian musicians, with whom a fruitful collaboration had already been created last year, through the Cultural Institute of Iran in Rome and Roudaki. Foundation.
The aim pursued by ERConcerti is to broaden the musical horizons towards Asia and the Middle East together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a project regarding a Rossini commemoration in an important Eastern capital.
The Easter Concert is a celebration strongly rooted in the traditions of the city, enjoying the appreciation of both citizens and tourists; every year it sells out, with over half of the spectators coming from outside Ravenna during the Easter holidays. In fact, it offers the opportunity to enjoy an evocative event in the context of an extraordinary place such as the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe, one of the most loved and visited monuments by tourists visiting Italy.
The event is organized by the Cooperative Emilia-Romagna Concerts and the Museum Pole of Ravenna in collaboration with the Municipality of Ravenna, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (Mibact). Partners of the project are Eni, Sapir Ravenna, Bunge, Romagna Acque and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
