Competition Announcement: International Prize “A Story in Six Words”.
In Memory of the Victims of Minab School (168 Untold Short Stories)
Il Ministry of Culture of Iran (Cultural Department and Department of Persian Language and Literature), in collaboration with theIran Book and Literature House, announces the opening of nominations for the International Award “A Story in Six Words”.
The initiative was born with the solemn intention of commemorating and honoring the victims of the Minab school, tragically bombed on the first day of the 40-Day War. Through the synthesising power of short fiction, the competition invites reflection and a voice to this dramatic event, transforming grief into historical memory.
Competition Themes
Interested authors are invited to prepare and submit their papers based on the following topics:
Minab School
Human concepts (war, peace, hope, suffering, etc.)
Children's rights
Patriotism
Regulations and Guidelines
To ensure the validity of their participation, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Format: Submitted works must be strictly written in the format of a “six-word story”.
Sending limit: Each participant can send up to a maximum of six papers.
Personal data: Participants are required to provide their complete personal data and a valid contact information (email/telephone) upon submission.
Awards
The most deserving works will be awarded by the jury. The winners will receive:
Cash prizes
A commemorative statuette
A diploma of honor
Expiration date
The deadline for submitting the works is set for 22 July 2026 .
