Armak bāfi (Armak processing)

Armak's processing is a typical artisan technique of Iran, belonging to the traditional weaving industry.

Armak is a cloth woven by hand, worked in the Province of Yazd through the use of yarn and cotton. It generally has a width that fluctuates between 75 and 90 cm and a length of 25 meters. The Armak fabric has simple, plaid or striped patterns and is used to produce shirts, local clothes and school uniforms.
To weave this fabric, in most cases, are women. The standard of daily production by a weaver is around 5 cm.
